Just like we change our wardrobe in the FALL we need to take a look at our skin care routine and make some changes as well. This means a shift from lighter skin care products used during warmer months to slightly heavier products, such as thicker, cream-based cleansers and moisturizers to prep your skin for what’s ahead. These changes will provide stronger barriers and this is especially important for the face, it is the part of the body exposed the most. If much of your time was spent outdoors like boating, walking, hiking or running for example, your complexion needs special attention.
Here are a few tips to transition your skin and give it the recharge it needs to bring that healthy, dewy complexion back and prepare for the season ahead.
As we age, natural exfoliation can take up to 40 days or more, which leads to a buildup of dead skin cells. This means fine lines, uneven skin tone, and in some cases, acne. Incorporating natural fruit enzymes into your skin care regimen is a great way to clean, correct, and polish the skin, as well as deliver nutrition to skin cells. Yes, we hear it all the time drink your water. Do you see fine lines and wrinkles when you look in the mirror? Time to reevaluate your water intake! It IS essential in healthy skin. Water lubricates our joints and aids in moving the toxins out of our bodies, when skin is hydrated, it looks plumper, and the signs of aging are minimized. Even when there's a chill in the air and thirst isn't overwhelming, water consumption needs to be high to combat the dry air. So go ahead and pour yourself a large glass of water and take another to go!
